In May of 2002, as I await in the waiting area to recieve news that I've only heard others talk about, but never thought we would experience. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in both breast. As tears flowed and anxiety set in we prayed for Gods healing and peace of mind. All I could think about is cancelling my wedding that was only 2 months away, and focusing on what I thought mattered most. As we gathered our thoughts and spoke with doctors on the next steps that needed to be taken, we were'nt sure where the coming weeks or months would take us. A couple of weeks after being diagnosed my mom had surgery, they performed a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery just a couple of weeks before my wedding day. I share this with you all to say my mom is a 7 year conquer as of July 1, 2009 and she is a strong minded woman that has been able to encourage other women that are experiencing the same thing. October is Breast Cancer awareness month and I think we should take the time to help by Thinking Pink.
