One
of my goals for 2013 was to attend a photography workshop with someone in the
industry who I greatly admire. Someone who could help grow me, and who could
assist in tuning/stretching my pro-passion. I say pro-passion because not only
is photography my passion, but it is my profession and I firmly believe we can
truly never over-educate ourselves when it come to fulfilling our purpose.
There is ALWAYS something to learn, a different approach to take, and a simplier
way of doing things.
In
April I attended a workshop hosted by the super talented Spank Mills. A long
time follower of her work, I was super excited to attended and let me tell you,
the workshop did not disappoint. It was
everything I dreamed it to be, plus so much more. I excitedly took it all in
and soaked it right up!!. One of the things I took away from this workshop was something so simple, but yet so powerful. Use a timer. I mean, how simple is
that?? Spanki gave us these really cool timers from Anthropologie to assist us with managing our
time. I am a visual person and these little eye-candy timers were perfect for
my visually appealing nature. I have used my iPhone in the past, and I've looked at
the clock on my PC, but to hear the ticking and the buzzing of a
timer, helps me get my booty into action. My inner athlete kicks in and I find myself
competing with the timer. Since I have been working in timed increments, I've
noticed that I am crossing much more stuff off of my daily to-do list and I
know exactly where I am spending my time. Trust me, it
works, now go give it a try and let us hear your feedback.
Remember to take the time to invest in yourself and be willing to go outside of your comfort zone. "Time is money and Timing is everything."
P.S. Thank you Spanki Mills for keeping it real &
your willingness to share & educate
