Coffee & Words:Faith In Marriage

One topic I haven't really discussed much on She Inspires is marriage, and I was thinking the other day, why not?  Marriage is such a big part of my life, and it's one thing that I love so dearly and thank God for on a daily.

My husband Matt and I have been married for almost 13 years, we have grown together in so many ways, spiritually, physically(I mean physically), we laugh together, we cry together, we disagree together, we love and we pray together. We have two wonderful boys, who have truly opened our eyes to what really matters in life.  But most of all we let God lead. I remember when I met Matt 17 years ago, and about 6 months into dating  God showed me that he would be my husband, and it didn't matter that he was from a different culture and background.  I knew if God showed me this was the one, then when the time came, it was right.

Once we got married in 2002, we were young and I was so afraid of what was next in my life. Marrying this man felt so right, but the fear of what if it didn't work, and what if our marriage failed,  which is what I saw a lot of in my family growing up; marriages not working. Then I came to realize it's truly up to us to make it work and God being front in center of it all, it can and will work, but it seriously has to be both in it together. That doesn't mean the devil won't try to come to steal and destroy what God has put together.. What it means is, if you let God lead and put on that armor together, you can defeat it all.

Let your marriage be a faith walk, putting trust in God to take care of it all, just like everything else in your life. Walking in love and happiness every step of the way. God wants us to trust in him, so we can know how to react to things with our spouse.  He wants us to love unconditionally, like he loves us.
