DIY: Crestal's Kissing Booth

Nothing screams Valentine's day more than a sweet little Kissing Booth. We are kicking off LOVE week with this cute little DIY kissing booth that one of my friends created for a simple photo shoot for her daughter & clients. This is so adorable!!

"My husband and  I created this little kissing booth based solely from an inspiration picture. This photo-shoot was full of laughs and lots of love! My daughter loved it!  I think there was more candy eating going on than anything else."- Crestal

How to:
-We used a simple boxed crate from the craft store,  a long chalkboard(that we also created), 2 thin trim pieces, spray paint, and drill.

-We spray painted the box and trim with flat white paint(Rust-Oleum brand) and attached the trim to the crate in order to hang the chalkboard across, make sure the width is perfectly even with the crate, so that the chalkboard is centered. We added some heart details and a jar of candy for color, and you have yourself a fun photo prop to enjoy!

Floral Matters:: Add A Touch Of Spring

Hello Ladies!! Rebecca here with our first Floral Matters of 2014. Even though we are still officially in Winter, you can add a touch of spring to your home with simple flowers.

Visit your local grocery store and pick up a few bunches of flowers and make a beautiful masterpiece. I chose yellow tulips, yellow spider mums, orange lilies, pink asters, and greens.

What to do!!
  1. Take your flowers out of packaging and trim away the bottom leaves on the stems. Grab a simple vase and add fresh water and flower food.
  2. Start arranging flowers  by adding your greens first. You will probably need to cut down the greens just a bit. Adding the greens first will allow for your other flowers to stay positioned where you put them. Starting with a triangle I positioned the tulips, and then added orange lilies between the tulips. In the middle of the arrangement positioned at a higher point add another stem of orange lily.
  3. Next add the spider mums and then fill out with the pink asters.I personally like a little different finish or personal touch. I added the bare grass asymmetrically and added a touch of curly willow.

DIY:: PAINTED + WALLPAPER IKEA TV CONSOLE

These last couple of weeks I have been finishing up a fabulous interior styling project. The client had an IKEA TV console that was brown and didn't flow with our design and the space at all, so I decided a makeover was in order. With a little sanding, two coats of primer, high gloss paint and wallpaper, I was able to bring this piece to life and give it some character.  I seriously almost forgot to take a before pic, so the one above was already in the primer stage.

As I work on a wallpaper accent wall in my own bedroom, I decided to use that same wallpaper to accent the TV console. I love the way it turned out!! Thanks to WallpaperDirect.com/us/
