NYCIA'S BRIGHT HOME OFFICE

Finally getting around to sharing my creative space that I call my office.

Working from home can be hard some days, and for me, escaping to my little bright space in my home allows me to tap into my creative side a little bit better.

Bringing in a bright colored rug and a fun wallpaper would definitely get my creative juices flowing and allow me to be more productive. Monday’s are normally my hardest days, and it’s nice to have a space to go to, even if it’s in my PJ’s.

What INSPIRES YOU TO WORK HARDER & BE MORE CREATIVE? Go Tap into that today!!

I had a custom desk made for my space. I wanted wood with a little metal detail to keep it modern and light. The chandelier is from Wayfair, one of my favorite go to places for easy online shopping and great prices.

For me finding inspiration is a big deal on a daily.. So it was fitting from me to add a large inspiration board, full of words, photos and travel. I am constantly inspired while sitting in my space and my board is constantly changing.

Living Room Update:: Bringing The Outside In

When Laurel & Wolf  asked me what changes I would make to my living room. Well,  that opened up the itch for a great renovation discussion with my hubby. The idea in my head is really considered more of a nice little update. At least that's what I told him.

After moving into our new home over a year ago, we have a list of things that we would like to upgrade or should I say, remodel. Nothing to major, because we love our home, but just a few custom touches to completely make it our dream house.

One of the things at the top of our list is sliding glass doors leading out to our back patio, to bring the outdoors in.  Not to mention such a great concept for entertaining with family and friends, especially with the warmer temps ahead. Opening up the living room to the outside, will make for a nice flow in our space and allow for great dinner parties all year around.

The inspiration board below is centered around the lovely white 4 panel sliding doors from Home Depot. I love the white frame and clean lines of these doors. I'm also a huge fan of the Katie Kime lucite bar cart, and stocking it with a signature beverage for guest as they arrive, would be perfect.  Not to mention the light and airy feel throughout.

Rug Vibe: Old World Touch

When I received this beautiful rug a couple of weeks ago from Wayfair, I wasn't sure what look it would give my dining space.  I just knew I wanted something different to make a statement in the space and to compliment my farm table and wallpaper design.

My dining room needed a little something to mix things up and add some drama, without being overpowering.  The dark navy blue, light creams, and hint of gray and brown, really add a nice old world vibe to the space. This rug is very soft, I do recommend adding a rug pad to give a little extra cushion, the colors are very rich and really compliment the dark wood flooring. I'm still not sure if this is the look I'm going for in the space, but I star at it for a couple of more weeks and decide...

All the rich color hues compliment my gray tones throughout really well.

Holidays At Home

The Holiday season brings that warm and cozy feeling, and decking the halls in my home  this time of year is one of my favorites.  I thought I would share a few snap shots from my home.

Putting ornaments in jars and bowls and placing them around the house, is a must!

My Home: Dining Room Photo Shoot

A few weeks back I had the opportunity to play a little bit in my dining room for a fun photo shoot with the lovely Kendra Michelle Photography.

Dressing up my farm table is always exciting for me, especially with a little black and white striped detail and a simple floral centerpiece with added greenery from my backyard. With this shoot I really wanted to highlight my lovely Farrow & Ball wallpaper from Wallpaper Direct.  When I decided to add this accent wallpaper to my dining room, I was holding my breath, because I wasn't sure if it was going to be to much for the space. After my husband installed it, I instantly fell in love!! Just enough "WOW" for the space!!

Don't be afraid to add that unexpected element to your home, you might just love it!!
