Thanksgiving Table:: "Be Thankful"

Is it really that time of the year again? Man did this year fly by!  I can't believe we are getting ready for the Holidays.. There is just something about setting the table in my home that makes me giddy this time of year.  I love pulling out pieces that I don't get to use that often and getting creative.

 My first table of the season was inspired by warmer tones and natural elements. It all started with these gold toned napkin rings from my mother- n-law and birch wood candle holders.  When prepping a table I like to start with mt inspiration, then build from there. I also love setting the table with a simple white plates and then piling on texture and details. With this setting, I brought in pumpkins and natural elements with wood candle holders, antlers, and flowers for that pop of color. I also used a simple white wrapping paper in the center of the table to add a layer.

I placed cards on every place setting, that read "Be Thankful" for guest to write what they are Thankful for on back. These were done with black card stock from Hobby Lobby.

Also place cards where made in the shape of leaves, which I will share the DIY in another post for these fun Holiday place cards....

I hope you are inspired to go set the table for the Holidays. It's always nice to dress up your table and entertain!!!

Set The Table:: Simply Trad Thanksgiving

Have you decided on your Thanksgiving table this year?  Are you going more traditional or a little bit more modern with your setting? Choosing a color pallete and layering your table is the best way to get started. This simple traditional table started with these pasley patterned napkins with warm tones. Bringng in pumpkins and red apples with simple mason jar wild flowers makes for a simple setting with warm Fall colors. This table is perfect for that simple Thanksgiving and won't break the bank.  Next week, I will share a more modern table to get you inspired!

Giving Thanks

As I head into the week giving thanks and appreciating life and everything God has blessed me with. I thought it would be great to start off the week with a little Thanksgiving inspiration from Valorie Burton . "No matter your circumstances, there is always something for which to give thanks. "

1. TAKE NOTHING FOR GRANTED.
It is so tempting to complain in difficult situations, but don't fall into the trap of taking for granted the blessings you experience daily, even in challenging times. Take note of the things in life you may never have had to worry about. For example, I am grateful for my ability to see, walk, read, and eat. These may sound basic, but they are blessings that not everyone enjoys.

2. NOTICE THE ABUNDANCE OF BLESSINGS IN YOUR LIFE.
Make a list of the things you are most thankful for, and keep it somewhere visible. This way, you will be continually reminded of how rich your life is with experiences, people, and opportunities.

3. SEEK OPPORTUNITIES TO GIVE.
When you get up every morning, ask yourself, "How can I be a blessing today?" Seek opportunities to share what you know, who you are and what you have. This could be as simple as a word of encouragement to a friend who needs it or letting someone in, in traffic. Or maybe it's time to give money or your time in a meaningful way. When you seek ways to give, you find that you often don't have to work as hard to get what you want.

4. ENJOY YOUR LIFE.
One of the best ways to demonstrate an attitude of thankfulness is to enjoy your life. When we maintain a positive attitude, even in the face of adversity, we walk the walk of thankfulness. Enjoy what you have right now. You may not have everything you'd like to have in your life at this moment, but make a choice to be thankful for the blessings that exist in your life right now.

                                                               GIVE THANKS!
