I'm Thinking Pink!!

My mom is a breast cancer survivor of 9 years and she is such an inspiration to me and many other women around her. I am so proud of her for being a woman of strength and having faith to push forward and be a shining light to those around her experiencing the same thing.

With the month of October being breast cancer awareness month, my obession with pink is to the MAX  and having a reason to post pretty pink things on Be Inspired is always fun... So from time to time for the remainder of the month I will be sharing a little pink! I hope you are thinking pink!

It's October, Think Pink

In May of 2002, as I await in the waiting area to recieve news that I've only heard others talk about, but never thought we would experience.  My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in both breast. As tears flowed and anxiety set in we prayed for Gods healing and peace of mind.  All I could think about is cancelling my wedding that was only 2 months away, and focusing on what I thought mattered most.  As we gathered our thoughts and spoke with doctors on the next steps that needed to be taken,  we were'nt sure where the coming weeks or months would take us.  A couple of weeks after being diagnosed my mom had surgery, they performed a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery just a couple of weeks before my wedding day.  I share this with you all to say my mom is a 7 year conquer as of July 1, 2009 and she is a strong minded woman that has been able to encourage other women that are experiencing the same thing.  October is Breast Cancer awareness month and I think we should take the time to help by Thinking Pink
